I’m falling in love with April. If you asked me last month what my favorite month was, April would not be among the favorites. But this year’s April has changed my view of this spring month. It all started with sunflowers. While walking downtown, I noticed sunflower poking through the cement of a parking lot of an abandoned building. There they were just blooming away while the rest of the world moved on its merry way. I couldn’t get those persistent sunflowers out of my head that when I went to Trader Joe’s this weekend I had to buy some.
And then there was the storm. It rained so hard I literally woke in the middle of the night because of the noise. Luckily I didn’t have work in the morning so I did not mind the interruption. I eventually fell back asleep and when I woke in the morning, it was still raining but this time a softer pitter-patter. It was a wonderful soundtrack as I buried myself deeper into my covers.
And last, there is all the craftiness! Now that the the weather is warming, I feel like everyone is getting more creative. There were some wonderful displays at the library with some really cool paper manipulation. And then there are my own craft projects–I’m still working on the quilt and I have just started knitting this stag head pullover. It might be a little too ambitious but I’m going for it!
I hope spring is going just as wonderful for you! I hope you take time out of your day to stop and smell the flowers, my friends!
